The A.I. Chan Foundation was created in 1986 in order to perpetuate the continued furtherance of the dreams and ideals of Alfred Ignatius Chan, pursuant to the will of his estate following his death in 1983. Mr. Chan firmly believed that the road to a prosperous future would be successfully paved by dwelling on the past. The Foundation exists as a living memorial to continue that dwelling and paving.

We must never forget where we came from if we want to remember where we are going.
